A to Z Challenge: Be Bold

So after realizing that I could only get myself out of the hole I'd dug myself into if I followed God's plan, I started praying for guidance. This time, I changed my way of thinking about my dreams.

See, before I'd thought they were just girlish fantasies, but after hitting rock bottom, I realized that those were the only passions that stayed with me my whole life.

I realized that I couldn't just hide my dreams and try to dismiss them. I needed them in order to live a life that I'm happy with.

And let's face it all of us wants to maximize our happiness.

It was time for me to decide on my dreams. What did I want? And what did God want for me to do?

Here's the thing though. One of my good friends had recently said something very true and very important:

If you think small, you're limiting the scope of God's grace.

So I decided to think big and to be bold. Because God didn't ever intend for me to fade into the background.

What about you? That dream that you have lurking in the back of your mind, if you open it without trying to put limits on it, what would it be?

This post is exactly what I needed to hear today. I've been thinking small for a long time! Thank you for this! Hope you're having a great day Misha!

I'm so writing that line about thinking small down and carrying it around with me. Thanks for coming by my blog.

My eyes filled with tears while reading your A and B posts. One of the causes for depression is pushing your true self down, ignoring your authentic gifts, and listening to the wrong voices. So often, parents have good intentions of steering you into a lucrative career, only to send you into a life of misery in not following your dreams. I wish the best for you.

It's a great line.

Thanks for returning the visit. :-)

Thanks Mary. When it comes to dreams, I agree that part of the causes of depression comes from suppression. The other, I believe comes from the constant pressure that comes with having to perform at something you grow to hate more and more.

Thank you very much for the award! I'm honored that you thought of me.

I have enjoyed reading your blog ... can you relate to the "that's just what I needed to hear" feeling? That's what your words just gave me. :)

Thanks for a wonderful A to Z ... I'll be back to see what else you've got going on! :)

This is a great post! I realized one of my passions last year, and am very excited about some future plans I have. It's actually the topic of my post tomorrow, so I won't spoil it in hopes you'll stop by and read again, but I wanted to come by and say hello and thank you for the comment you left for me earlier. I look forward to following you throughout the challenge! - Sarah

So true. If one starts looking at difficult things as possible, they suddenly seem a lot less impossible.

I hit this moment my senior year of college. I never thought my dreams were girlish fantasies, naturally, but roughly the male equivalent. I suddenly became convicted that if mt heart is truly in God's hands, then maybe those persistent desires of my heart were in His hands, too.

I wrote a song about it that is still my go to when I started doubting and thinking I'm fearful.

lol Actually, come to think of it, I struggle with this so much that I have at least three songs written on the topic. One's much better than the other two though. hahaha

Hahaha I don't have any songs on the topic, but countless poems. :-D
