Energy

You will recognize your own path when you come upon it because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you will ever need.
- Sara Teasdale

When I saw this quote, I thought that I'd have to write a post about it. It fits my blog like a hand fits a glove. Why?

Well, the moment I saw it, I thought of my own life experience thus far.

Back when I'd still been locked into a life course that I'd let other people push me to, everything I did sucked energy right out of me.

It got to the point where it took me more energy just too start doing something that it did to actually do it. Yeah... not the best way to live life.

Once I started taking charge of my life and doing the things I love, I found that I had so much more energy. It was as if these things that brought me closer to my dreams created the energy I needed to get through my day.

Nowadays, I try to do as many of those things as possible, because not only do they bring me in line with what I want from my life, but it they make it so much easier for me to live it.

What do you do that gives you such a burst of energy that you know that it's what you're supposed to do?

It's interesting, I've been thinking a lot about this as of late. I can't say there is one SPECIFIC thing that lights my path for me, but there are several things that I feel light the path for this season in my life. Some of which are, tending the garden of my family, teaching art to kinder through 5th grades, helping grow an amazing art program here in WA state...those are just a few!

Great post, Misha!

Great post. This is a topic I think about a lot as well. Singing and dancing give me energy. I guess I should have been a musical theater star. : )

I know exactly what you mean, last year I was pursuing a career that really didn't suit me, and I didn't have the energy or motivation to do anything. When I started pursuing a different career in January, I noticed straight away that I was much more motivated and had a lot more energy! :)

Years ago I felt the energy sucked from me by a negative workplace and negative people. Once I moved on and focused more on my writing, my energy went through the roof.

Misha, you are so right about this! Life is too short. I find this with people too. There are some that I have chosen to limit my time with because They are so "happy " being miserable and complaining and bashing others and I was one that they enjoyed complaining about. I get such joy from just hanging out with my family and writing. I know it's simple, but I am happiest when I am there. Great Great post!
Blessings, Joanne

Gardening and/or baking. I guess the act gives me time to reflect and concentrate and they are activities I can start and see the end result of!

Take care

Nice post, Misha. I think it was my mid-life whatever that made me realize this. I do like to write, and I like to garden. They both energize me. I despise housecleaning--and it sucks the life right out of me. I'm not making fun at all. It's true what I wrote. And they are extreme examples of what you wrote about. When we go willingly--no, much more than willingly. When we go enthusiastically into a project, when we are passionate about what we do, it breathes energy into our lives. Great post :-)

Hey, Misha,
What amazes me is that when I don't get to do the things that I love, I have no energy.

Thank you for your comment on my poem,
You are so right, It wouldn't be nice to tell me to take my music off. It is my blog and the music stays.
I live alone and have been doing this blog for years, I like what I do and shall continue to do my blog my way.

You will continue to do yours whatever way you do it and I respect it and find it most enjoyable.

Yvonne.
