Housekeeping and music

As you can see, I changed up the look.

The standard background just didn't work for me any more, so I thought I'd put in one that better suits me.

This one works. My favorite color is blue and I love music so... I don't think I'll get a better representation of my personality than that without paying for the background.

Not much else to say news-wise, although I did now open a third blog. It's very low priority, though, so I probably won't neglect this one more than I have recently. Basically it's about me learning to grow orchids, so if you're a grower or would like to try your hand at it, I'd love to see you there.

Singing-wise, I'm back to regular solo-instruction, and I'm now learning this:

Yeah... so different from when I started, but that's good.

That's me for now. Any Puccini fans? What's your favorite operatic aria? And what do you think of the new look?

I like the softness of the blue. This song needs great breath support. Good for you! Happy singing!

Love your new look! Not that there was anything wrong with the other one but I know what you mean about wanting change. That video is amazing. You're one talented lady with a goal I think you'll reach.

While the old one was fine, this new lean look is nice too.

I didn't know you were a voice aficionado. The video was wonderful of that Puccini aria. Used to hear a few bars of it on tv commercial advert for a champagne company in the early 1990's.

I love opera, although some of my friends do not care for it (I always tell them it is not as bad as it sounds. cm) When I lived in New Orleans (Louisiana ,USA) I went to every opera each season and was thoroughly enchanted by them. Carmen, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Madame Butterfly et al were each a lovely spectacle.

Hard to name just one favourite aria, gosh there are so many. Meditation from Thais, Nessum Dorma, Un bel di, Caro Nome, Mon coeur s'ouvre, the latter which was made into a pop music hit; sung in English entitled "Night", sung by R&B singer Jackie Wilson. These arias come to mind when I think about arias.

I hope when you learn "Babbino" that you will provide a video of yourself singing it. I would love to see and hear it.

I think you are an amazing person, what with writing, singing, painting, acting (as an extra, right?), growing orchids, and staying sane and being happy, which is of course the most precious gift.

Proud to know you, take care.

Oh Misha, I forgot to mention, those are beautiful music stands in the video. Always see the black metal ones here.

Nice soothing color. I use my favorite color (yellow) on my blog page too.

The color and music are good combinations for change.

Yes it does. I'm still trying to nail the how much and when for now. :-D

Thanks Kittie! I also know I'll reach my goals one day. I just have a huge issue with the patience it requires. :-D

Thanks so much for the compliment! I'm honored to know you too.

And yes. I will definitely share a vid of me singing Babbino if I EVER manage to get it right. Wouldn't want to embarrass myself and become an operatic version of Rebecca Black. ;-P

Yeah I like them too.

Yeah I think the fact that its soothing is why I picked it. After years of dark, I felt like opening things up with pastels. My writing blog (black at first, then crimson) is now a nice mint green.

never heard of Puccini, but I love the new background. Lighter is better, in my view, easier to read. The blue is beautiful~
