Enough about me already!

Since I haven't really done in the past few days except for editing (not blogging about it here), read (blogged about it at MFB) and critting (again, a post for MFB), I'm kind of stuck without a topic for today. I mean, I could do another pep-talk, but that would be a bit too sanctimonious for me.

So... today is another More About You day. Tell me more about yourself.

1) What is your favorite story ever? It doesn't have to be a book.
2) If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, who would it be? Where would you have it and what would you serve?
3) What is the one experience that you think a people should try at least once?

Because I always get comments saying that I ask too many questions, I'm going to cut it short. Can't wait to hear what you think.

I had to think long and hard about the story, there are so many - but I suppose one front-runner would be the Velveteen Rabbit.

I'm a terrible cook, but I'd love to go to dinner with Winston Churchill. Brilliant man, historian, and with a biting wit as well.

Everyone should get to fall in love at least once. It isn't always pretty, and it may or may not end well, but you should at least get to know what it's like.

Hi, I found you on Elana Johnson's blog. One of my favorite books is Shannon Hale's Goose Girl. I'm also reading Scorch Trials by James Dashner right now and loving it. I would like to have dinner with Keith Urban and have him sing for me, but I wouldn't cook. I'd want Mediterranean food somewhere in the Mediterranean in a villa by the sea. Sigh. A girl can always dream. I think everyone should try pursuing their fondest dream, for me it's writing.

Hmmm, I'm still thinking because I don't want to rule out anyone or anything that I really cared about.

You should answer your questions, too.

I saw "Midnight in Paris" this weekend and loved it. Every writer should see it.

I'd probably invite JK Rowling. But I'd be too flustered to eat. Or talk properly. I'm known for my soups and I make a pretty good stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. I'd probably do a pasta for the main course.

Sex. Other than that, Paris.

OOOh I love talking about myself. :)

1) Hard to pick a favorite story, but I'll go with Harold and the Purple Crayon.

2) Taylor Swift. She's my daughter's idol and seems like a great person to hang out with. And I'd have to order in food as my cooking skills suck.

3) Camping. Too many people don't do it.

1) I think my favorite story comes from a book I can't find anymore. My dad would read to me from that book at night. I don't remember the story but the illustrations use to give me the most vivid dreams.

2) I would loveto have dinner with Gary Corby (a hard choice since most of my other favorite favorite authors are now deceased). He writes fantastic historial mysteries and is another tech/history geek like myself. Since I'd be super nervous the food would probably (I'm being honest) store bought. Last time I was reading one of his works I nearly burnt my dinner in the oven.

3) Going to a public viewing night at an observatory. Looking through the really big telescopes makes the small of your stomach flop funny. Planets are so awe inspiring.

Favorite story? I don't know if I could choose just one. There are some worlds I love so much I can visit them over and over again, though.

Inviting someone to dinner? Man, again how could I limit it? I'd love to have Hagrid over--or Fred & George Weasley. But then I think Mat Cauthen from the Wheel of Time series would be a hoot. Or Lightsong from Warbreaker. And the list goes on.

Traveling outside of the country of their birth, especially to a place where the people don't have it as well. It can be very eye opening.

Favorite story? I have so many, but I guess there are some common themes I really love. Underdog stories. Ugly duckling stories. Cinderalla stories. and on and on!

What is the one experience that you think a people should try at least once? Walking down the Grand Canyon - and ideally - walking out again

Great idea! I need to do this on my blog... maybe I will!

I love stories with magic, like Harry Potter. If your story has magic, I'll probably love it.

I would love to eat dinner with John Adams.

And I don't do much, so I don't know what people should try. I'd love to travel the world...

1. My grandfather tells the best stories. I love the story about his wedding during WWII.

2. I would love to have dinner with Winston Churchill.

3. One of most exciting things I've ever done was flown over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter. I wish that everyone could have that opportunity. It was amazing.

Happy New Year, Misha!
