Just checking in.

It's been a while since I just did a regular check-in. Mostly, it's because I'm seriously busy with preparing my two books for publishing.

It's not, however, all I've been doing lately.

Mostly, my free time (IE time not being spent on work and/or publishing) is being spent on reading and crocheting.

I'm in the process of making a blanket for my bed. A biiiiiig blanket. One that can cover my bed and hang on the floor on two sides. And the squares it consists of really aren't all that big. I can't really give a peek of what the blanket will look like, though, because I only have a lot of squares at the moment.

Because I won't be able to join them until everything's done. (I'm working with quite a few colors, so it remains to be seen how everything will look together.)

Other than that, I'm doing quite well.

How are you?

It's great to hear things are going well. I can't wait to see what your blanket will look like. All the best with preparing your books for publication.

It's good to be busy, even if it's just something quiet like crocheting. I love homemade blankets. And good luck with the publication process! It's a pain in the neck but worth all the hard work.

I am working on a quilt project requested by my daughter (who holds my gr-son on a daily basis). She wants banners to replace other baby-ish commercial banners. This project is taking a long time.
Good luck with yours!

Things are busy here with kid stuff as their school year wraps up. My older daughter was in a play, two concerts, and it's her birthday month. The younger is trying hard to learn how to bike without the training wheels. I'd love to start a new novel, but I keep getting pulled away to do other things. Making a blanket sounds like a fun hobby.

Yes you can give us a peak....lay out your squares and snap a photo, it's fun to see projects grow. I share those pictures all the time and I'm going to be bugging you...just saying!!

I so admire people who crochet or knit! Looking forward to seeing your finished creation. Best of luck with getting your two books ready to go, too.

Things are good here. Feeling inspired again and working my way toward the writing life again. Feels wonderful!

I love how bits of fabric can magically make a blanket! (Okay so there is clearly some work involved, but I can't imagine it.) lol. Sounds cool. Best of luck with your publishing! Very exciting!!!!

I like to crochet too, though lately I haven't been doing it much at all. I was working on a granny-square blanket, but it's kind of gotten pushed to the side. It's incredibly relaxing, crocheting... I should do it more often.

Glad you are well and are busy with getting your books ready. Me, I'm trying to finish with the current edit of my manuscript so I can send it off to the copy editor. Lots of little side-projects happening too. I really need to be able to clone myself.

Thanks Murees. :-)

Hi Beer guys! Yeah the nice thing about crocheting is that the repetitive motion allows my mind to wander more than when I do something like writing.

Susan, quilting does take time, but I think it'll all be worth it once it's done. :-)

Tamara, it does sound like you're being rushed off your feet.

Sandy, I might just do that over the weekend.

Jamie, I'm glad to read this. It's always a wonderful feeling to get back to writing if you've been gone from it for a while.

Tanya yeah I'm really excited. :-)

Sara I also find that crocheting is great if you want to relax. Best of luck with the editing!
