A to Z Challenge: Hang in There

Up to now, I've dealt with a variety of things that happen when we start taking charge of our lives. Obviously, some of them will make the process incredibly difficult. Much more so than I can describe.

But there's one thing I do want to encourage you to do. If you know that you're on the right track. If you've been hashing things out with God and the road you're on is where He wants you. Then there's only one thing to do.

Hang in there.

Sometimes it'll feel like you can't do a single thing more. Or that the people around you are making things too difficult. Or that you're tired of feeling so alone and unsupported.

The only thing you can do is hang on (I strongly suggest clinging to God in particular).

The first part of taking charge will be difficult, but it gets better as you settle into your new life. So whatever you do, don't give up.

Prayer

Lord,

I'm going through a difficult time right now. Things feel like they're much more challenging than I should be. I don't know how to go on. Without You, Lord, I know I can't.

So please help me find the strength to continue. And guide me, Lord. Because if You don't want me to do this after all, I need to know so I can change my plans. Your will be done, Lord. Not mine.

I pray this in Jesus's name.

Amen.

Boy, sometimes it really just comes down to that, trusting that there is a timing and plan you can't yet see. But sometimes the hands and heart grow raw and tired, don't they?

Oh yeah you do. But then we still have to continue hanging on. Often, this tiring out is a test from God. If we "fail", we get to learn more. If we don't we get blessed and grow even more in our lives. :-)

I don't rely on a god for troubled times, but I do have my family and they have a proven track record with me.

"Don't Give Up" is great advice no matter what.

And, when it feels overwhelming, a good nap, rest from the daily, are important. Amen to your prayer.

This is a good reminder. Sometimes I get to the point where I'm feeling really tired and I know that at that moment I need to just rest so as not to fall back into the old patterns.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." That's a line my wife uses in her workshops on hope.

Then there's the story of the unfortunate picture. First they framed it; then they hung it.

Hanging in is one of the things I do a lot.

Blessings and Bear hugs!

Amen Misha. You are so right. Clinging to God and trusting Him to lead you goes a long way to finding the right direction. Thanks for the encouragement. God bless, Maria from Delight Directed Living

I've been through those times - it's like hanging on to a ship's mast while the elements batter against you. And, boy, you feel invincible when you come out of the other side.
